Kathy passed away at Caribou Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, B.C., following a brain hemorrhage after being diagnosed with vascular dementia earlier this year.
Predeceased by her parents Mel and Kay Fitzgerald, her daughter Amanda, brothers Patrick and Butch, and sister-in-law Gail. Kathy is survived by son Chris (Wilma), grandchildren Rebekah and James; son Rob (Ashley), grandchildren Wyatt, Josie and Madi; brother Joe (Yvonne); sister Christene, and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved cat Missy.
Kathy treasured her friends, many of whom were lifelong. She cared about people, often starting conversations with strangers, thus adding to the circle of those she held dear.
Kathy was fiercely stubborn and independent, choosing to live life her own way.
A celebration of life is being planned for Spring 2024.
In the meantime, raise a glass and have a drink in Kathy's honour, she would like that.
