After a short battle with cancer, Maria passed away peacefully with family by her side. Maria will be greatly missed by her daughter Christina Lanting (Chris), son Rob Konopski (Tamara), grandsons Austin, Carter and Hayden, brother Tapete and sister Lucinda as well as many close friends including Carl.
She was predeceased by both her mother and father. Maria was born in Incheon, Korea in 1958 and then came to Canada in 1967 when she was adopted by Brian and Jean Ridgway. Maria moved to Agassiz in the late 1970's where she raised her family and owned a hair salon for many years.
Maria was a strong, happy, kind and very caring woman. She was the first person to lend a hand to anyone in need. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her three grandsons. Maria loved taking walks, hiking, shopping and trying new foods.
A celebration of life for Maria will be held on January 20th at 1 pm at The Friendship House, 7272 Morrow Road, Agassiz.
