In Loving Memory ~
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our courageous amazing Mom, Martha Winanda Hendrix on December 9, 2023 in Port Moody, BC. Predeceased by her loving husband Nick in 2014, left to mourn are her four loving daughters and family, Yolanda Booth (David), Fiona Cherry (John), Cynthia Hendrix (Ron), Melva McAree (Ray).
A devoted Oma to five wonderful grandchildren, Payton, Maranda, Taylor, Josh and Sean, she leaves them with beautiful cherished memories filled with love and laughter.
Born on April 15, 1939 in Geleen, Holland, Mom met the love of her life, our Dad, Nicolaas Hendrix in Holland. They immigrated to Canada and started their married life together on September 17, 1960 in Prince George BC.
In 1965, they moved to Chilliwack, BC where they happily resided for over 45 years. While being a busy loving mother, Mom also enjoyed working as a fitness instructor, playing table tennis, doing crosswords and cross stitch, singing in the choir, antique collecting and travelling the world with Dad.
There are not enough words to describe the immense loss we feel. We will miss your laugh, your singing loud to your hearts content and all your love and support. You are forever in our hearts but know we will see you again one day.
A family celebration of life will take place in the spring.
