Rae Anne Hesketh

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rae Anne Hesketh. Rae Anne passed away unexpectedly at home on July 13, 2022. She is predeceased by her mother Rita Hesketh, father Richard Hesketh and brother Robert Hesketh. Rae Anne is survived by her partner Frank Barbas, step-daughter Emily Barbas, brothers Ronald Hesketh, Randall Hesketh and nephews Brandon and Matthew.
Rae Anne had a long and successful career teaching figure skating throughout British Columbia and the Yukon for approximately 41 years. Her longest contract of 32 years was with the Campbell River Skating Club where she thrived and had a multitude of successes, including many medal wins for her students and Galas put on for the community, to name a few of her accomplishments.
Rae Anne will always be remembered for her high expectations from her students, attention to detail and the fun and joy that she brought to the rink every day.
Rae Anne's Celebration of Life will held at the Maritime Heritage Center on October 1st at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or SPCA.
