The new streetscape along the west end of Esplanade was made possible with Resort Municipality Initiative funds

Congratulations to the Village of Harrison Hot Springs for doing such a terrific job on the 'renovation' of Esplanade Avenue, it looks terrific! The Province of British Columbia's Resort Municipality Initiative (RMI) is a funding mechanism which the village of Harrison Hot Springs is utilizing as one of a handful of designated B.C. resort municipalities.

A tax on accommodation in the villages hotels, motels and one B&B provides funding for Tourism Harrison and as per the RMI – matching funds for tourism related infrastructure development.

This project is an excellent example of how overnight visitors to the village can pay for improvements that result in a more attractive and livable community and for the enjoyment of all. Well done!
