Letter to the editor: Put our great grandchildren first

I am shocked how media is using their power to create stories such as the six-part series The Pipeline Project !

I am shocked how media is using their power to create stories such as the six-part series The Pipeline Project!

Why is Black Press not writing the stories behind the fight for our rights as British Colombians? Why instead of feeding the fuel to the fire are they not working with First Nation communities to hold Kinder Morgan accountable for NON- first nations consultation?

I am personally sick of the lack of coverage or support for British Colombian’s fighting for their future generations by protecting our waterways. We have the power of unity not only in our province but to show the world that money does not buy everything.

Kinder Morgan has failed to meet all the requirements and especially First Nations consultation in regards to Aboriginal Rights and Titles.

I personally do not agree with using the tax dollars from the hard working people of B.C. to pay for a pipeline more then half of B.C. doesn’t support. Things would have went a different way if they decided to replace the 60-year-old existing pipe with a new pipe…there was never a reason to build a second pipeline, but greed! Money cannot buy my consensus and it is sad when you see people who support this project fill their own pockets instead of putting their great grandchildren first!

Our fragile Fraser river, salmon and coastline need to be protected from greed and dirty politicians in the back pocket of the oil and gas industry. I am so thankful, John Horgan and Elizbeth May – along with others – are fighting to uphold the constitution and protect our waterways and First Nations rights and titles.
