It’s not too late to help out local firefighters.
The Agassiz Fire Department Society (AFDS) is gearing up for its 20th Annual Charity Golf Classic.
Donations to the AFD Society would benefit the Agassiz RCMP Victim Services Program, B.C. Children’s Hospital, Agassiz-Harrison Community services and much more.
Despite the pandemic putting so many events on hold, donors gifted the AFD society with more than $8,800 to their causes.

“We felt it was never more important to maintain our giving, especially during such a trying year for so many,” reads a statement from the AFD Society. “Each year, we strive to surpass funds raised in previous years, and with your help, we will again in 2021!”
Physical donations and smaller sums will provide for raffle, auction and silent auction items to raise funds for charities. There are golf hole sponsorship opportunities at three levels – bronze ($150), silver ($300) and gold ($500). Signage at the sponsored hole is included, in addition to other exposure.
The tournament itself takes place on Saturday, Sept. 11 at Harrison Resort Golf Course.
