COVID-19 and vaccination numbers were largely at a standstill during this past week in Agassiz-Harrison.
The B.C. Centre for Disease Control recorded eight new cases of COVID-19 between Feb. 13 and 19; this is up slightly from seven the previous week and up by five cases since this time last year. This brings the 2022 total to 180 cases of COVID-19 recorded in the local health area.
There have been no further reports of COVID-19 exposure events or outbreaks in Agassiz-Harrison Schools. At Kent Institution, the site of the biggest COVID-19 outbreak on record for the area, all inmates are considered recovered. Correctional Service Canada reported there were actually two outbreaks with 99 inmates involved and two inmates involved, respectively, rather than one outbreak of 101 inmates.
